When Julie approached me about having her very own Le Chic Boudoir session, I was not only excited but also felt very honoured!  Julie is a fellow photographer in Brisbane, and a very talented one at that!  To say that I didn’t feel the pressure was an understatement lol  It is always, initially at least, a little nerve racking photographing a fellow photographer!  But as soon as we got started on the day of the shoot we had so much fun, lots of laughter, chatting, and of course different opportunities to dress up and try different themes.  One of my ever so talented Hair and Makeup Artists, Kate Fide, helped out with hair, makeup and ideas!

One thing that I love doing with my boudoir shoots is introducing a woman’s personality and interests into the theme and layout of the shoot.  Julie has beautiful birds as her pets, so I wanted to include them somehow.  Well…….the adage “don’t work with children or small animals” is so far from the truth here.  Julie’s baby girl posed so eloquently for the camera!  I am not really sure who was upstaging who by the end of the shoot lol

Julie was doing this shoot as a birthday present to herself.  I have had a number of clients book me as a present to themselves.  While it is wonderful to do this type of photo shoot as a present to your partner, many of my clients have commented about how this was just as much a present to themselves!!!!  I think that this is a wonderful idea for a present to yourself, and more power to you!!!  Emotive’s Sexy and Vibrant Boudoir Ladies!!!!

Ms “Julie” just came to see her photos today and was so excited about sharing them.  I could wait and had to blog them today!  Looking forward to creating a beautiful Session Album for you, Julie!

This image below always makes me smile.  It really encapsulates Ms “Julie” and her fun personality!

Many times when I ask my clients to try a certain pose, it is because I can ‘see’ something that I will be able to create with the image later on…..this is a perfect example of one of those times!  I just love this photo.

Ms “Julie” reminds me of a Grecian woman here, with the pose and the treatment given to the image in post-processing.

This would have to be my absolute favourite image from the shoot.  The way that her back and hair looks, along with the inquisitive look that her bird is giving me…..it just works for me….

Can I just start out by saying how lucky I am to have such wonderful clients who trust me explicitly.  Trust is such an important part of Boudoir Photography.  Without it you can see all over a person’s face just how uncomfortable they really are.  I just love being able to help a woman feel good about her body, in a relaxed and classy way, and to treat her like a supermodel for a day!  Ms “K” was no exception.  She originally approached me to do a boudoir shoot as a present for her soon to be husband.  However, she quickly realised that it was as much a present for herself as it was for him.  You will also see a surprise appearance of an “I {heart} Edward” T-shirt.  Ms “K” is now happily married, so it is my absolute pleasure to be able to share with you some of her images from her shoot.  How absolutely beautiful does she look?

Emotive Images has been featured in the local South-West Newspaper, after winning 3 Silver awards at Qld AIPP and 1 Silver award at the national Australian Professional Photography Awards.  I must say that I prefer being behind the camera, but it was good fun getting my photo taken this day.

I met with Ms “L” a month or so ago to arrange her very own Le Chic Boudoir Session.  Ms “L” was a really wonderful client…..sassy…..excited…..motivated……and wanting to create emotive imagery that made her feel like an absolute supermodel!  I have only just had a chance to look through her images from yesterday, and she has well over 100 images that I have to narrow down for her

Look at what you can achieve with a willing subject, a beautiful antique chaise and 1 corner of my dining room!!!!!!!  This just shows anyone who is wanting a shoot in their home, but worried about space or backgrounds, that you can achieve anything! with a little bit of creative lighting and thinking!  Sianne was lovely to work with, a really lovely woman who was willing to try different things, even if they seemed a bit zany at first…..We ended up shooting for numerous hours, and were exhausted by the end of it.

Boudoir photography doesn’t have to be some scary process that women worry about being tacky or sleezy.  I am always respectful of my clients, supportive of their ideas, and I’m always keen to find just the right pose to highlight the person’s beauty and personality.  You do NOT have to be stick thin, supermodel status in order to do boudoir photography.  Many women do boudoir photography as a gift for their partner, and some even have a session to boost their confidence and to feel sexy and beautiful as a woman.  These sessions can often be quite empowering for women who feel like a goddess on the day, with hair and makeup done for them by a qualified makeup person.

Now, back to the photos!  I really cannot choose which photos are my favourites!  How gorgeous does Sianne look!  I love the quirky ones with the kingkong monkey

Sianne is a beautiful model who I did a Boudoir shoot with the other day.  She had the most amazing chaise day bed couch that she wanted to use for the shoot.
