When Julie approached me about having her very own Le Chic Boudoir session, I was not only excited but also felt very honoured!  Julie is a fellow photographer in Brisbane, and a very talented one at that!  To say that I didn’t feel the pressure was an understatement lol  It is always, initially at least, a little nerve racking photographing a fellow photographer!  But as soon as we got started on the day of the shoot we had so much fun, lots of laughter, chatting, and of course different opportunities to dress up and try different themes.  One of my ever so talented Hair and Makeup Artists, Kate Fide, helped out with hair, makeup and ideas!

One thing that I love doing with my boudoir shoots is introducing a woman’s personality and interests into the theme and layout of the shoot.  Julie has beautiful birds as her pets, so I wanted to include them somehow.  Well…….the adage “don’t work with children or small animals” is so far from the truth here.  Julie’s baby girl posed so eloquently for the camera!  I am not really sure who was upstaging who by the end of the shoot lol

Julie was doing this shoot as a birthday present to herself.  I have had a number of clients book me as a present to themselves.  While it is wonderful to do this type of photo shoot as a present to your partner, many of my clients have commented about how this was just as much a present to themselves!!!!  I think that this is a wonderful idea for a present to yourself, and more power to you!!!  Emotive’s Sexy and Vibrant Boudoir Ladies!!!!

Many times when I ask my clients to try a certain pose, it is because I can ‘see’ something that I will be able to create with the image later on…..this is a perfect example of one of those times!  I just love this photo.

Ms “Julie” reminds me of a Grecian woman here, with the pose and the treatment given to the image in post-processing.

This would have to be my absolute favourite image from the shoot.  The way that her back and hair looks, along with the inquisitive look that her bird is giving me…..it just works for me….

When I saw that a friend had some glamour shots taken, I was determined to get some done as a little gift to myself for my birthday. I searched the web for the perfect boudoir photographer, and when I came across Louise’s website I was just stunned by the images she created.

Louise was very patient with the millions of ideas I had for the shoot, and we used most of them on the day. To look at my photos, you wouldn’t know that I was nervous – but I wanted my pictures to be perfect of course! She was very skilled at putting me at ease or stopping for breaks when necessary. You should also know that I am normally quite introverted, but she knew just the right things to say to make sure I posed well (as you can see!). All my friends love the photos and I can’t stop showing them off!

Thankyou Louise for creating such beautiful images. I couldn’t have hoped for better photos of myself – and will treasure them for decades to come.

My boudoir session with Louise was such a fun and empowering experience, I can’t recommend it enough to other women. Louise was so open and helpful through the whole process – happy to meet a number of times before the session to discuss my ideas on themes, outfits and location. I had such fun on the day and felt completely at ease, even while my body was contorted in some very odd positions! I never felt awkward or uncomfortable, and we had lots of laughs.

Then came the photos…. I was literally blown away at the viewing. I could not pick one photo that wasn’t gorgeous. Louise had exactly translated my ideas into truly beautiful photographs, so much more than I had hoped for. The images were fun, sexy but in such a tasteful way I would wallpaper my whole house with them if I could! While I had initially had the session as a gift for my husband-to-be, they turned out to be as much a gift to myself. My husband also thinks they’re pretty great (understatement of the year).

Louise, thank you again for the photos and the experience. I can’t recommend you enough to others and encourage women considering boudoir to know that far from being sleazy – I felt like a supermodel and smile each time I see the photos on our wall.

Can I just start out by saying how lucky I am to have such wonderful clients who trust me explicitly.  Trust is such an important part of Boudoir Photography.  Without it you can see all over a person’s face just how uncomfortable they really are.  I just love being able to help a woman feel good about her body, in a relaxed and classy way, and to treat her like a supermodel for a day!  Ms “K” was no exception.  She originally approached me to do a boudoir shoot as a present for her soon to be husband.  However, she quickly realised that it was as much a present for herself as it was for him.  You will also see a surprise appearance of an “I {heart} Edward” T-shirt.  Ms “K” is now happily married, so it is my absolute pleasure to be able to share with you some of her images from her shoot.  How absolutely beautiful does she look?

Well……I am absolutely thrilled with Ms “L”s photos and so is she.  I believe that they are totally different again to what I have done in the past, with a hint of past images.  How lucky am I? to be able to photograph women all dolled up and have the opportunity to create something remarkable in their lives.  How many times do us as women treat ourselves, put ourselves first, choose to “give” ourselves something and not expect to have to give back later on?  How many times do you get to do that???????  What an amazing opportunity to give something long lasting and empowering to my female clients.  Here is a small selection of her images and a slideshow

I met with Ms “L” a month or so ago to arrange her very own Le Chic Boudoir Session.  Ms “L” was a really wonderful client…..sassy…..excited…..motivated……and wanting to create emotive imagery that made her feel like an absolute supermodel!  I have only just had a chance to look through her images from yesterday, and she has well over 100 images that I have to narrow down for her

This year I became an Emerging Member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).  Each year the AIPP holds a range of events, including the state and national awards that members can enter.  I decided that 2009 would be my first year of entering awards.  I am always striving to improve myself and the way that I create my imagery through the lens.  These awards attract a range of hugely successful and widely talented photographers from all over Australia.  The Queensland awards are no exception, so it was a great thrill to enter this year, and be in the company of some amazing photographers and their work.  I was thrilled as I watched three of my print entries being awarded Silver Awards!

Ms “S” commissioned a Le Chic Boudoir Photography Session with Emotive Images a few months ago, as a present to her fiance on the day of their wedding day.  Ms “S” found Emotive Images when she was searching for a Boudoir Photographer in Sydney.  Ms “S” caught a plane to Brisbane twice to have her photography session, and then to see her photos.  This woman had the most amazing eyes!  I love focusing on eyes, they can show so much about the person and how they are feeling.  Ms “S” had her hair and makeup done by Erin Bigg, makeup artist in Brisbane.  Because she was from Sydney and it was a surprise to her hubby-to-be, we had to be discrete with a location.  We ended up shuffling around our home studio, to create a comfortable space for Ms “S” to produce the images she wanted.  All of these images were achieved within a small dining room space, and a metallic painted wall.  The photos speak for themselves about how easy it is to create a ‘studio space’ in the comfort of your own home.  Check out the photos, I am sure that you will agree, Ms “S” was hot hot hot!  Such a beautiful woman, and she looked just as beautiful on her wedding day!  If you would like to have your own Le Chic Boudoir Photography Session, then contact our studio.
