Ellie and Joel were married in currumbin a few months ago at a beautiful beachside ceremony and reception.  We had met a few months before that to organise a Love Shoot for them to celebrate their engagement.  We had such a fun time, with lots of laughter!

So the question is……..

What do you get when you combine a sunny afternoon in south Brisbane, in a paddock with long grass, a couch, an old TV, a lamp, some creative use of flash and a couple in love?

Aaron and Pene were married last month up on Mt Mee on a glorioussss May day!!  Ocean View Estates Winery was the location for the ceremony and the reception.  We started out at Pene’s cabin on site where she was getting ready with her family.  Pene was as calm as can be!  She looked beautiful and so content.  Her family were so supportive and nurturing.  It is so beautiful when arriving to a wedding and being able to actually ‘see’ the love between everyone.  It was so adorable seeing Pene getting excited watching us take photos of her dress, parasol and other items, as she could picture exactly what we were trying to achieve.  Her dress was absolutely stunning with an amazing train of gorgeous lace.

The day went from clear blue skies, to a downpour of rain and right back to amazing blue skies and lovely fluffy clouds!  Talk about some fantastic good luck for them both on their new journey together!  Aaron and Pene are such a cute couple and exactly the types of clients that I love working with.  They have a quirky sense of humour, trust in whatever creative ideas I present to them, and as a result are willing to try anything I suggest

Ellie and Joel were married at Currumbin in April this year.  They just came for their album ordering session today, so I am now able to share with you all a sneak peek of their wedding day!

Ellie and Joel are such a fun couple, and their bridal party were also really wonderful and supportive on the day!  They got ready, had their ceremony, photos and reception around Currumbin on the Gold Coast.  It was a beautiful day, and the weather behaved itself at least until after the ceremony.  As soon as we started the bridal party photos, the sky opened up and bucketed down just for a little while, and just enough for a little “good luck” for Ellie and Joel on their wedding day.  The only cover nearby was some public toilets……… not the most romantic spot for wedding photos

It was fantastic to catch up with you both again today, and I cannot wait to design your album!  It is going to be stunning!  I will be in touch this week about your Emotive Boutique gallery of photos to share with your guests and family!  I hope that you enjoy the sneak peek shared here, would love it if you could leave some comments for Ellie and Joel to read!

Well, it is that time of year again and the Qld AIPP awards have just concluded this last weekend!  We attended the judging on Sunday and saw a huge variety of amazing photographs to be judged.  We were thrilled to be awarded with a Silver Award for one of our Le Chic Boudoir images!!!!  I will be able to show you the winning image once the National awards have been finalised.  But for now I just wanted to share the news with you all!

We won 3 Silvers at the Qld AIPP awards in 2009, plus a Silver award at the National awards…..Now we have been awarded another Silver Award for our boudoir photography at the 2010 Qld AIPP awards!  Emotive Images has an amazing year ahead of it, with plenty of exciting things in the pipeline!  I can’t say too much just yet, but definitely “watch this space”……  Have a wonderful week!

Louise

Kristy and Rob were married a few weeks ago.  I was so looking forward to this wedding day!  Kristy’s plans for the wedding day were beautiful, and I couldn’t wait to see them all come to fruition for them both!  Kristy and Rob are such a sweet couple.  It is so obvious the love they feel for one another, and on the wedding day not even pouring rain was going to dampen the love they have for each other.  Kristy’s wedding dress was absolutely stunning, with accessories to match.  Rob was such a character and really made me smile, along with his best man and his son.  It rained non-stop up until family photos, and literally started again once we were moving into bridal party photos.  This is where myself and my couples get to have a bit of fun and creative with lighting and backdrops.  The wedding and reception were held at The Glen Hotel at Eight Mile Plains.  They have a wonderful setup there, and great backdrops for a rainy wedding day.  We managed to stay undercover for the majority of the day.  We enjoyed ourselves so much on the day, and were so honoured to have been there to capture Kristy and Rob’s special day.  See you both soon for your album planning day.

When Julie approached me about having her very own Le Chic Boudoir session, I was not only excited but also felt very honoured!  Julie is a fellow photographer in Brisbane, and a very talented one at that!  To say that I didn’t feel the pressure was an understatement lol  It is always, initially at least, a little nerve racking photographing a fellow photographer!  But as soon as we got started on the day of the shoot we had so much fun, lots of laughter, chatting, and of course different opportunities to dress up and try different themes.  One of my ever so talented Hair and Makeup Artists, Kate Fide, helped out with hair, makeup and ideas!

One thing that I love doing with my boudoir shoots is introducing a woman’s personality and interests into the theme and layout of the shoot.  Julie has beautiful birds as her pets, so I wanted to include them somehow.  Well…….the adage “don’t work with children or small animals” is so far from the truth here.  Julie’s baby girl posed so eloquently for the camera!  I am not really sure who was upstaging who by the end of the shoot lol

Julie was doing this shoot as a birthday present to herself.  I have had a number of clients book me as a present to themselves.  While it is wonderful to do this type of photo shoot as a present to your partner, many of my clients have commented about how this was just as much a present to themselves!!!!  I think that this is a wonderful idea for a present to yourself, and more power to you!!!  Emotive’s Sexy and Vibrant Boudoir Ladies!!!!

Ms “Julie” just came to see her photos today and was so excited about sharing them.  I could wait and had to blog them today!  Looking forward to creating a beautiful Session Album for you, Julie!

This image below always makes me smile.  It really encapsulates Ms “Julie” and her fun personality!

Many times when I ask my clients to try a certain pose, it is because I can ‘see’ something that I will be able to create with the image later on…..this is a perfect example of one of those times!  I just love this photo.

Ms “Julie” reminds me of a Grecian woman here, with the pose and the treatment given to the image in post-processing.

This would have to be my absolute favourite image from the shoot.  The way that her back and hair looks, along with the inquisitive look that her bird is giving me…..it just works for me….

We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Jacinta and Tim’s wedding a few weeks back.  You can see their engagement photos in the post below.  Jacinta and Tim are such sweethearts.  It is so obvious that Tim adores Jacinta, and Jacinta adores Tim.  We headed off for the day with the most beautiful weather ahead of us.  We started off at the Lavendar Farm at Mt Mee where Jacinta was staying, then moving on to the ceremony at the Mt Mee school, and finally capturing bridal party photos around Birches Restaurant.  Phil and I had visited Birches Restaurant the week before, and had the most amazing lunch there!  It is such a stunning location for a wedding and reception!  I really do enjoy the mountain region there!  As you will see below, their wedding was full of love, laughs, a cutie pie flower girl, the best groomsman and bridesmaid!  We always try and have lots of fun on our bridal shoots.  We even convinced Tim to lead a dance routine in a roadside field to the song “Shake your tail feather” lol (as you can see from one of the photos below)……needless to say that there were lots of laughter and fun with the bridal party that day.  The boys’ “blue steel” impression worked a treat in getting everyone laughing and relaxing into the shoot!  Thanks guys for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day!  See you both very soon!

Jacinta and Tim are getting married this month!  So we had no time to lose in getting out there and taking some engagement photos!  Jacinta and Tim loved the idea of having their photos taken at SouthBank, Brisbane.  I do love this location, as it is so close to the city, and yet so many spots where you can achieve lovely textures and backdrops to create a really intimate shoot.  This couple are so sweet, and so much in love!  And don’t you just love Jacinta’s dress!  Can’t wait to photograph your wedding guys!!!

When I saw that a friend had some glamour shots taken, I was determined to get some done as a little gift to myself for my birthday. I searched the web for the perfect boudoir photographer, and when I came across Louise’s website I was just stunned by the images she created.

Louise was very patient with the millions of ideas I had for the shoot, and we used most of them on the day. To look at my photos, you wouldn’t know that I was nervous – but I wanted my pictures to be perfect of course! She was very skilled at putting me at ease or stopping for breaks when necessary. You should also know that I am normally quite introverted, but she knew just the right things to say to make sure I posed well (as you can see!). All my friends love the photos and I can’t stop showing them off!

My boudoir session with Louise was such a fun and empowering experience, I can’t recommend it enough to other women. Louise was so open and helpful through the whole process – happy to meet a number of times before the session to discuss my ideas on themes, outfits and location. I had such fun on the day and felt completely at ease, even while my body was contorted in some very odd positions! I never felt awkward or uncomfortable, and we had lots of laughs.

Then came the photos…. I was literally blown away at the viewing. I could not pick one photo that wasn’t gorgeous. Louise had exactly translated my ideas into truly beautiful photographs, so much more than I had hoped for. The images were fun, sexy but in such a tasteful way I would wallpaper my whole house with them if I could! While I had initially had the session as a gift for my husband-to-be, they turned out to be as much a gift to myself. My husband also thinks they’re pretty great (understatement of the year).
